Happy Birthday from Jazz at Lincoln Center     Posted Tuesday, February 06, 2007, 11:12 PM
My new gig...working with Todd Barkan, manager of Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, record producer, and industry guru. What a birthday present! The only thing better would be...James Carter live. Oh yeah--courtesy of my new employer. Looking forward to this hang.

I've been asked to join the writing staff of jazz.com! I'll be reviewing latin jazz recordings for a team headed by Ted Gioia. I feel the weight of the jazz canon bearing down on me. Stay tuned for updates on this great opportunity!

Performing at the Jazz Standard     Posted Saturday, June 10, 2006, 10:20 PM
Played at the Standard tonight. The biggest stage so far. It was a great gig. A glimpse of things to come. The only drag was that one of the musicians asked to borrow my set list (the one with all my notes on it) the night before and didn't return it. A photographic memory would have been especially helpful. Overrall, a great experience.
