This past year in Richmond has been wonderful: my weekly engagements at Maggiano's have garnered great success and exposure for both my groups and the restaurant; my trip in June to Brazil was very fruitful, earning me an invitation to publish my paper in a Brazilian journal and a feature in Sao Paolo's major newspaper; my work in Cuba and the Mark Lomanno Afro-Cuban project were featured on NPR's "Morning Edition" in August; and the Mark Lomanno Quintet rang in New Year's with a bang at Maggiano's!
