Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website. If this is your first time here, make sure to check out all the features: from the "sounds" page to the calendar (where you can sign up for the e-updates), to "markspace," where you'll find artwork, a blog, links, and much more!

This past year in Richmond has been wonderful: my weekly engagements at Maggiano's have garnered great success and exposure for both my groups and the restaurant; my trip in June to Brazil was very fruitful, earning me an invitation to publish my paper in a Brazilian journal and a feature in Sao Paolo's major newspaper; my work in Cuba and the Mark Lomanno Afro-Cuban project were featured on NPR's "Morning Edition" in August; October brought a beautiful wedding day; and the Mark Lomanno Quintet rang in New Year's with a bang at Maggiano's!

After seven productive and formative years in Richmond, I'm moving up to New York City! My new wife and I are relocating to the "big city" to pursue our careers. She is returning after having left so that we could get married - this time with Equity card in hand! And I will be enrolling in the Jazz History & Research Master's Program at Rutgers University this Fall! We're both very exciting about moving on to the next phase in our careers. I look forward to continuing the work I've started in Richmond, and look forward to some upcoming tour dates up and down the East Coast, from Maine to Florida.

Please enjoy your time here. I would love to hear all your thoughts about the work we have done - stop by the "Reviews" section and let us know what you think. I look forward to seeing you at a show soon!

Mille grazie,

Mark
